I am a senior account manager at brassMEDIA Inc., a media and technology company founded to improve how young adults understand money. I am a licensed business banker and financial adviser, and I co-founded Tandew Software, a web analytics company, in 2009. I also advise for the Small Business Development Center at Linn-Benton Community College and contribute as a board member for a number of local organizations.
My Name is Matt Andresen, but most know me as Matty. I am a proud of my alma mater, WAZZU. I closely follow the Dodgers, Trailblazers, Wazzu Cougars, and the OSU Beavers. I am passionate enough that when my team loses, I have to quietly whisper to myself that it is just a game and life will continue.
I was born in Seattle, Washington and moved here when I was 2-years-old. Nothing against Seattle, but a big part of what defines you is not where you were born, but where you are from. Many of my passions (education, faith, fitness and sports) stem from this place. Corvallis has a higher education rate per capita than any other city in the State of Oregon and one of highest in the country.
While I live in one of the most unchurched counties in the U.S. I still have a faith stemming from my Pastor Uncle relocating here in 1990. In regards to fitness, Corvallis boasts to be one of the most bicycle friendly towns in the U.S. and one of the healthiest. To fulfill my sports passion, I live in Beaver Nation, home of Oregon State University (my girlfriend literally lives across the street from the football stadium). Admittedly, I went to Washington State University and have a strong passion for the Wazzu Cougars (I even was the mascot), but I also love and follow the Beavers.
My involvement in the community (past and present) includes:
Associated Students of Oregon State University (ASOSU) volunteer, Calvin Presbyterian Church, Corvallis Chamber of Commerce, Corvallis Judo Club, Corvallis Young Professionals Board, Corvallis-Benton Chamber Coalition Board, Corvallis Montessori School Board, Downtown Corvallis Association, Earthkeeping: Logos House Class, Heartland Humane Society Board, Micro Nano Breakthrough Conference Committee, Speaker Lunch Committee, Willamette Business Connections, Willamette Angel Conference ’09 Speakers Committee Chair, Willamette Angel Conference ’10 Executive Committee
